...HEAVY SNOW AND BLIZZARD CONDITIONS POSSIBLE WEDNESDAY... .A strong late season winter system will move northeast through the region from Tuesday night into Wednesday. Rain will transition to a wet snow from northwest to southeast on Wednesday morning and afternoon. Some sleet may mix in during this transition period. A narrow band of heavy snow accumulations will likely occur northwest of a line from Preston, Minnesota to Neillsville, Wisconsin. Additionally, strong wind gusts of 35 to 50 mph will lead to whiteout conditions at times with the falling snow. * WHAT...Blizzard conditions possible. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 8 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph. * WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Iowa and southeast Minnesota. * WHEN...From late Tuesday night through late Wednesday night. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult.
